Blog Comment Requirements

In addition to posting your own artwork on your newly created blogs, you will also be asked to comment on the work of your classmates. Each comment should be about a paragraph (5 sentences) long. These comments should be thorough and insightful, using some art vocabulary discussed in class. There is no limit to what you may say in these comments, except that they must not be hurtful to the artist. If you are at a loss for words, you may choose to discuss the following topics:
  •  Elements of Art/Principles of Design (line, form, shape, space, texture, value, color, emphasis, balance, harmony, variety, movement, rhythm, proportion, unity)
  • Relationships (between items/characters, with other artworks, with current events)
  • How the artwork affects you, how it makes you feel, what it reminds you of, etc.
  • The artwork’s strengths and weaknesses (constructive criticism)
